The Issue

Breonna Taylor Act

There should be a ban on  "No-Knock Raids". No loss of evidence is worth a single life. Click here for the bill.

They are a danger to citizens as well as law enforcement. As we have seen most recently with the tragic, needless death of 26 year old Breonna Taylor. There was also a fatal shooting of 7 year old Aiyana Stanely-Jones who was asleep on her sofa as the raid started in Detroit, MI. Sadly there have been many in between.

No-Knock raids has also proven dangerous for police officers who are harmed or even killed by unsuspected and frightened citizens when an unknown threat enters their home.

It is an American right to protect yourself, your family, and your home. These no-knock raids also unjustly and often harshly prosecutes citizens when they harm or more heavy heartedly, kill an officer without the knowledge that they are in conflict or attacking law enforcement officers- but rather thinking that they are under attack from an unknown assailant. In these cases it is unfair to prosecute someone for attacking someone with only the knowledge that they are defending themselves from an unknown intruder-with weapons.

No-knock raids have killed 8 officers and 31 civilians have died during execution of no-knock raids between 2010-2016.
