Problem
Town centre parking charges are less likely to attract visitors to town centres. Therefore this contributing to the decline in retail and is one of the factors today we see up to 5 million retail workers jobs now at risk. Town centre parking should be free to all visitors with no time restrictions.

Personal story
I have my own retail business and the footfall in the shop is down 35% on last year. In the last 16 months there have been 11 shops close around us. I often ask customers what is it that puts them off the town centre and after they say hardly any shops I ask them what could be done to help and the majority of time the reply is we need free parking.
