I have been volunteering at the animal shelter and I've been seeing a lot of injured dogs. Some have skin issues, broken bones, and deep wounds. Yet, they still wag their tail when you see them.  Some are very fearful. One dog part of its nose was gone and it was just a puppy. There are mom's with litters. Also, there are so many stray animals. Dogs are getting hurt or worse. Too many people abandon them and do not care for them. Texas needs more shelters and funding for the shelters. There are too many strays and some have behavioral issues. The shelter I go to euthanized them if they do not find placement. Which is around 2 weeks. They are not given a chance. More non- kill shelters would give these animals time to find a family and there would be less animals roaming around. I met a dog that was so fearful,  he would avoid people,now he is starting to trust people. Some strays are roaming in packs and can be a scary sight. When I was door dashing there were a pack of dogs near my car. Safety of the people and the animals.
