Today, October 9th, 2020, the FWSSR committee announced that they have cancelled their 2021 livestock show amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Just 20 minutes after their video announcement via Facebook, there is already a community uproar. Some very important points have been brought to light, including:

- The NFR is continuing, right around the same area.
- Cowboy Christmas is still on.
- APHA world was held in the same facilities without an issue.
- HOT was held with no issue.
- Abbott is pushing to open up more businesses now!

For those reading who are not heavily involved in the Livestock community/family- this move is absolutely devastating. There are high school students who have purchased animals to put into this show. For many of these students, livestock shows fund their college education. There are high school seniors who will never get this opportunity or this moment back. There are vendors who have their livelihood based around their income at livestock shows. The community’s small businesses and economy will take a large hit. There’s so much more at play, these are just a few to list.

I have created this petition in order to gather my livestock/rodeo/horse show family in one place. We are strong. We have overcome what 2020 has thrown at us as gritty as we can. I, Destiny Wilson, do not agree with the move to cancel the FWSSR and demand review. If you are with me, please sign and share.
