Texas Poll Workers paid by the county or state should be REQUIRED to wear face masks during a pandemic. This is especially true for poll workers assisting voters using Curbside Voting. Often curbside voters are in high risk categories. Currently paid poll workers are encouraged but not required to wear a mask.

Most poll workers are over 60 yrs old and will come in contact with a large number of people  during Early Voting and Election Day for the November 2020 election.

Currently, Gov Greg Abbott has indicated that voters are not required to wear a mask at the polling place. However, businesses can require customers and/or employees to wear masks. Paid poll workers are employees of the county or state and should be REQUIRED to wear a mask for their own safety and the safety of other poll workers and voters.
