Justice for Jason Soto

The Issue

My son Jason M. Soto was killed in a road rage encounter on June 17th 2021. Jason was 18 and on his way to his hair cut appointment, on the way he encountered Tomas Rodriguez jr.

Tomas Rodriguez jr shot at my son as he was trying to get away from him. Rodriguez was given a low bond ($250,000) and was able to bond out. After this event A rash of road rage encounters have happened and continue too. It can happen to anyone, at any time and it’s a terrible experience to go through.

That Day My son had A hair cut appointment, he left like any other time before. He was taking longer than expected. My wife started to call him and since he wouldn’t answer that made her worry. She and my daughter went to look for him and came across the crime scene only to discover what happened to Jason.

My son was not perfect and nobody is perfect. We all fall short of the glory of God. I’ll tell you how proud I am of Jason, in his last days he showed me the great man he was turning into. How respectful, kind and generous he was, Always ready to help in any way he could. I had the great privilege to be Jason’s father.

We believe in the second amendment, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms. This decision that Tomas Rodriguez jr took was a cowardly one. To shoot Jason in the back of his head as he was trying to get away, is not self defense. He didn’t render aid, he even fled the scene. Tomas Rodriguez jr should pay the consequences of the decision he made that day.

Please sign the petition to help get justice for Jason, so that Tomas Rodriguez jr is held accountable for his actions.
