Greenville County School Parents & Students for Opening 2020/2021

Greenville County School Parents & Students for Opening 2020/2021

The Issue

2020 has offered a new challenge for our Country with the invasion of Covid-19.  With new challenges, we must exhaust ALL options available.  In recent days, GCS has emailed a survey to all families in regards to scheduling for the 2020-2021 school year.

If your family is like ours and so many others, the idea of a split schedule of any kind is hard to imagine.  Many families in today's world are dual income families and require both incomes to meet monthly expenses.  In the recent GCS Survey, they did not involve any options outside of an eLearning platform in some capacity.

The idea of a partial or full eLearning platform for our kids will require childcare/supervision for dual income families.  This will create a financial strain on these families and possibly hinder a child's educational growth.  GCS has offered no solution that will allow families to succeed.

Please ask yourself these questions:

  1. Do you have childcare/supervision readily available for the 2020/2021 School year, should GCS decide to use the eLearning Platform?
  2. Do you believe that the eLearning platform gives the students the learning experience and help that will make them successful?
  3. Do you agree that the options in the survey are the only options that can exist for our school system?

If you answered NO to these questions, like our family has, please take time and sign the petition.

We would like GCS to consider the financial impact of a partial to full eLearning platform on families, not to mention the impact it will have on your child's education.

Thank you in advance for taking time to read and sign this petition.
