Getting Home Safe

Getting Home Safe
The Issue
Greenville County detainees are released at unsafe times during early morning hours while it is dark and unsafe for them to access a safe ride to their destination. Our community have yet suffered another loss of life due to the unsafe hours of release of detainees, sometimes held for years and months before having their court cases heard by the courts that contributes to mass incarceration.
Many are released in the late night or mid-morning hours which is unsafe. All of Us or None (Greenville SC Chapter) and Step by Step Ministry Hope Project prays to end this immediately. On Monday, January 23, 2021, a dead body was found of a woman released from the Greenville County Detention Center. Lisa Marie Hagerty had been released on Dec 8, 2020 never to arrive to her location. Her remains were found near the Greenville Co. Detention Center and Law Enforcement Center in a wooded area. The date of Hagerty's death is verified by Coroner Parker Evans as Dec. 9, 2020. Lisa Marie Hagerty, a 43 year old mother of 3, was released from the Greenville County Detention Center when she went missing. Her family had searched for her whereabouts since her release. Lisa Marie's death was preventable; had she been released at a safe time! Releasing people in the dead of night when they may NOT have a ride or a safe place to go is cruel and unnecessary treatment.
Enough is enough.... please sign this petition to show your support to end these acts of negligence!!!
