Complete the Summit Avenue Corridor Plan

The Issue

The Charles B. Aycock Neighborhood in Greensboro, North Carolina has worked for more than a decade to improve the pedestrian, transportation, and development environment on Summit Avenue, contributing its time and MSD funds. The Greensboro City Council and the citizens of Greensboro endorsed this effort in 2008 by approving a $7.5 million transportation bond, for the Summit Avenue Corridor Plan, which was to be completed in five to seven years.

Six years later, no work has been started. With important changes coming to northeast downtown and the Summit corridor, the time has come to complete this project.
