Stop logging Before it Destroys the world.

Stop logging Before it Destroys the world.
The Issue
Illegal logging is the harvesting of wood that is in violation of national regulations. This could include harvesting timber from protected areas, felling proctected species or exceeding logging quotas. Over 25% of the Philippines are covered by forest. This percentage has been rising for the past few years, in part due to a government reforestation more than 90% of the Philippines forest are owned by the state. One fifth of the country's forest have protected status and nearly half are manage. Through this petition I am encouraging everyone to help and save not only the trees but also our world the humanity and our future.
Facts On Forests In The Philippines
An estimated 9.8 million hectares of forest was destroyed due to illegal logging and deforestation between 1934 and 1988.
Approximately one-fourth of the Philippines is forested.
We’ve wiped out around 80% of forests in the Philippines.
Although illegal logging is a big problem in the Philippines, recent government and policy action has begun to decrease its impact on the environment. Hopefully, with further work and government intervention, illegal logging in the Philippines will be all but eradicated within the near future.
“A nation that destroys its soils destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people.”
