Don't Use Plastic for a Change

Don't Use Plastic for a Change
The Issue
Mission: We hope this campaign will influence people’s minds to lessen the use of plastics
with the alternatives, and do's and don'ts given on our campaign.
Vision: We envision this to impact people’s lives by leaving them information on plastics' adverse effects on our environment and the future waiting for us if this continuous unhealthy use of plastic keeps ongoing.
Intending to lessen the use of plastic and fuel people's knowledge with the consequences of using plastic, this campaign will impact people's lives and the environment for a better change since its use and effects has been a problem here on Earth.
The constant use of plastic brings problems to the environment and people's lives. Marine life is disturbed with plastic trash thrown around the oceans, rivers, seas, etc. Forests can be seen with plastics left out by hikers or travelers, which puts danger on animals living there because of sudden consumption. The burning of plastic by people produces toxic gases that go to our atmosphere, wherein it contributes to ozone layer depletion. The way it slowly uncovers climate change because of the damage, leaves the Earth swollen. The Earth is the only planet, for now, that can cater to humanity, so we must do our best to take good care of it.
LOCAL STATISTICS
According to World Bank (“Philippines: Plastics Circularity Opportunities Report,” 2021):
O.8 Million tonnes of plastic are disposed of each year.
About 28% of key plastic resins are recycled
$790-890 million of the material value of plastics is lost annually
A waste audit conducted by the Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives (GAIA) revealed that Filipinos use more than:
163 million plastic sachet packets daily

In 2016, the average waste generated per capita at the city level was about:
0.40 kg/person/day (urban: 0.79 kg/day, rural: 0.10 kg/day).
