GREENBELT PROTECTORS versus Richard Farnell. Vote of no confidence.
The Issue
Richard Farnell is the lead of Rochdale Council, the changes he is pushing go across border to Oldham and Bury Councils. He will have an influence on both of these Councils for the joint ventures on the proposed Industrial Units at Stakehill, Kingsway and Pilsworth/Heywood. All of these units will be built on our Greenbelt. He shows no respect to valid opinion and plucks random figures out of the blue regarding empty industrial units, vacant housing and brownfield sites. His figures then go on regarding housing requirements, industrial unit requirements and job opportunities none of which add up. No reliable data has been supplied for the electorate to scrutinize. Our main way of gaining misinformation is via his blog.
We ask our elected local councillors to consider the views of the voters of Rochdale Borough and the views of Oldham and Bury Borough and raise a motion of no confidence in Leader of the Council over this issue.
