I contacted Mayor Andy Burnhams office, asking that a plaque be erected in memory of Duncan but was refused. No reason was given but I assume it is because his death doesn't suit the narrative.
Duncan Keeting was violently attacked for simply voting for Brexit. When he regained consciousness he refused to cooperate with the police or call an ambulance, as around here 'snitches get stitches.' His jaw was broken in multiple places and dislocated. He must've been in tremendous pain so he went home, where he presumably self medicated on alcohol and painkillers for the pain. Official cause of death after the autopsy was death by misadventure.
His attacker was initially charged with manslaughter but that got reduced to assualt after the autopsy. Can you imagine the outcry if this was a remain voter who died in this way? There would be national campaigns to increase the sentence and for a new autopsy to prove his injuries led to his death in order to increase the charges to at least attempted murder, GBH and the rest. As it is, Duncan died and not only does hardly anyone know about it but those in authority who do seemingly dont care either.
I asked Mayor Burnhams office for a plaque in rememberance. They refused, so please share and sign this petition to show your disgust at this decision. Fascist violence should not be brushed under the carpet as it doesn't sit well with your own political allegiance and beliefs which is what I believe Mayor Burnham to be doing
