Continuity of midwifery care leads to better outcomes for both mothers and babies. One to One Midwives offer this high level of service to pregnant women in Greater Manchester where local NHS maternity services often cannot.
Commissioning One to One Midwives in Greater Manchester fulfils the Department of Health's Mandate to the NHS Commissioning Board which states the NHS should:
- offer women the greatest possible choice of providers;
- ensure every woman has a named midwife who is responsible for ensuring she has personalised, one-to-one care throughout pregnancy, childbirth and during the postnatal period
One to One Midwives caseload midwifery service has demonstrated high normal birth rates with a c-section rate nearly half the national average. Fully assessed and assured by the NHS Care Quality Commission (CQC) and already commissioned by 6 CCGs in the North West of England it is time the women of Greater Manchester were able to take full advantage of this successful maternity provider.
