Stop Pro-Kill Shelters in Maine

The Issue

Approximately 1.5 million pets are euthanized each year in pro-kill shelters because of multiple reasons: old age, no home to go to, no room to keep them in shelters, etc. But, why are we making the decision to end an animal’s life? Overall, shelters in Maine are no kill, but there are a few shelters that are still pro-kill. (Hope Harbor Animal Society, Friends of Feral Felines, and Greater Androscoggin Humane Society). Maine has no need for pro-kill shelters and should make the jump to become a no kill state.
