As a dedicated follower of the Northern Footy Show, it deeply affects me when they are unable to fulfil their mission of promoting football in a proficient and professional manner due to lack of access to clubs and players. Northern Footy Show has always offered well-rounded coverage of NFNL and AFL games, shedding light on both on-field and off-field developments with a unique blend of analysis and entertainment; however, their job is becoming increasingly strenuous because of existing access restrictions. It is critical in a democratic society like ours that media institutions have the necessary boundaries within which to operate and flourish. The existing restrictions not only affect the Northern Footy Show team; they also hinder the access to information for fans like us who are reliant on their coverage for an in-depth understanding of our beloved games. We therefore, urge the relevant bodies to grant Northern Footy Show increased access to clubs and players, reinforcing the importance of media freedom and fan engagement in sports.
