Early in June 2022, Ubisoft announced that custom avatar will be removed indefinitely and will not be returning due to safety and inclusivity. Ubisoft Claims that custom avatar are unsafe for the ecosystem of Ubisoft. This change effects the entire player base, not allowing them to truly express themselves. Denying players such a basic function is truly unwise for the growth and reputation of Ubisoft and their present and upcoming titles. Ubisoft refuses to make valid changes to the avatar system, such as adding monitoring to view and determine if your avatar is within the necessary terms of service. These changes wouldn't even be needed, due to Ubisoft already having a manual avatar reporting system that they don't find satisfactory for some bizarre reason. Removing something that was never a problem in the first place just seems unnecessary.
