Important Update: 2/24/15

Dear Supporters, You were told that a big announcement was coming today, and we don’t intend to disappoint. We are excited to officially announce the launch of our new website: www.saveprofschuele.com ; the site, designed by fellow undergraduate Jade Scholz (Class of 2015), is intended to provide a platform for users outside of social media, and further enhance the way in which we communicate with our supporters. Additionally, as of 4pm today, we have submitted a letter to the administration at UC Irvine, requesting that they take action with regard to Professor Schuele’s employment. We have submitted the petition and comments (signatures remain confidential), and have given them 24 hours to act. However, in order for administrators to understand the gravity of the situation, we ask that you consider sending an e-mail to Chancellor Gillman BEFORE 5PM TOMORROW, demanding that Professor Schuele be granted tenure/security of employment, and immediately reinstated to her position within the Criminology, Law & Society Department at UCI’s School of Social Ecology. Schuele, a Lecturer PSOE in the department of Criminology, Law & Society at UC Irvine’s School of Social Ecology, has been terminated. This is troubling, given Dr. Schuele’s accomplished record. The fact that an award-winning lecturer is being dismissed from the university seems both arbitrary and misguided. Dr. Schuele provides current and former students with vital resources necessary for success. She has clearly demonstrated an excellence in teaching, and her knowledge and expertise in the study of law and society remain unrivaled in the department. As such, UC Irvine stands to lose a great educator and asset if they choose to dismiss Dr. Schuele. Therefore, we demand that UC Irvine administrator’s make the right decision, and grant tenure/security of employment to Dr. Schuele. Additionally, we request that you immediately reinstate her within the CLS department.
