Dear "Save Prof Schuele" Supporters,
VIDEO:
We're happy to announce the premiere of "Project: Save Prof Schuele", a video produced and edited by Bryan DuBois - a former student of Professor Schuele's, and one of our very own supporters (obviously)! We have uploaded the video to YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZ-_ITtz-3w), the petition page, and on the "Save Prof Schuele" Facebook group. Leave a comment, be sure to "like" the video, and SHARE with everyone you know (Facebook, Twitter, Email, etc.)!
ADMIN MEETING UPDATE:
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, Thomas Parham, to discuss the "Save Prof Schuele" movement and the issues surrounding Professor Schuele's employment at UC Irvine. The purpose in my visit to the Vice Chancellor's office was to notify the administration of our efforts, and invite them to have an open and honest conversation with supporters in a formal meeting sometime next month (February 2015 - exact date TBA). Once we have scheduled an appointment that provides the best opportunity for students and alumni to attend, I will send an update with the time and place of our meeting! Vice Chancellor Parham listened with an open mind, and provided valuable feedback from an administrator's perspective. **Based on suggestions from fellow supporters and input from the Vice Chancellor, we will be "reworking" the petition in the coming days in an effort to provide clarity on the topic of "tenure" and how it relates to "Security of Employment (SOE)". These clarifications, coupled with a restructured argument, will only strengthen our case! Rest assured that our revisions will in no way alter the theme, message, and function of this petition. If you have any questions or comments regarding these upcoming revisions, please do not hesitate to contact me. My information is below**
550+:
Today, we surpassed the 550 signatures "mark" on the petition, and continued to be amazed by the overwhelming response! We're rapidly approaching the halfway point (625), and hope that you'll continue to lend your support to Professor Donna C. Schuele. Lets keep up the good work!
