The Issue
To: The Leadership of Michigan City, Indiana
We, the undersigned residents, businesses, and stakeholders of Michigan City, Indiana, request the local government to allow Surf Internet to expand into Michigan City and begin constructing a state-of-the-art fiber optic internet network in our community.
Michigan City deserves city-wide access to reliable, high-speed internet to meet the growing demands of modern education, remote work, healthcare, entertainment, and small business development. Surf Internet has demonstrated a commitment to investing into the surrounding communities, and we would like for Surf Internet to move into our own hometown.
With Fiber Optic Internet, the opportunity to benefit from faster, more reliable services could boost our local economy and enhance our quality of life. At the current time, much of Michigan City's available Internet Service Providers are largely DSL or Cable providers that provide aging / antiquated technologies.
As such, we respectfully request that Michigan City considers:
- To actively engage and allow for transparent communication with Surf Internet's construction team to bring service to our city.
- Potentially expedite the review and approval of all necessary permits for fiber optic construction as needed.
- Collaborate with Surf Internet to address any obstacles or concerns efficiently and constructively.
This is an opportunity for Michigan City to join the ranks of other forward-thinking communities that recognize the vital role fiber optic internet plays in our modern world. Let us expand, and not miss this chance to invest in the future of our city. Surf Internet has made quite an impact in bringing many underserved communities across Indiana, Michigan, and Illinois into the high-speed fiber-optic age thus far. Please allow Surf Internet to do the same here in our own community.
