Grant St Simon’s Episcopal Church in Staten Island Landmark Status

Grant St Simon’s Episcopal Church in Staten Island Landmark Status
The Issue
St Simon’s Episcopal church has been a staple in Staten Island since the late 19th and 20th centuries. We just recently learned that the property that the church is on was sold to housing developers. We cannot afford to see St. Simon’s be demolished and just a memory.
I knew many people that attended that church and we all were friends. They were one of the most charitable organizations and church on Staten Island and helped EVERYONE IN NEED. They even leased their space to other religious organizations that could not afford a church space of their own.
Now last, but certainly not least, they have a historic 1941 2 manual 3 rank Wicks pipe organ. We here on Staten Island cherish our pipe organs. If the church cannot be granted landmark status for any reason, we beg that this historic organ be granted landmark status in its place. Thank you for hearing us on this very important matter and please help us spare St. Simon’s from the wrecking ball and being handed over to these housing developers!
