Grant rescues extra time to rehome surrendered XL bully’s

The Issue

Hundreds of XL bully’s are in rescue right now, fighting for their lives, desperate to be rehomed before the ban comes into force on 31st December and they are euthanised through no fault of their own.
Many of these are gentle family pets, surrendered because tenancy agreements won’t allow banned breeds, or because their owners can’t afford the associated costs of exemption, neutering and insurance but can’t face having their dog put to sleep.

We want the government to consider granting these animals a stay of execution as long as they are assessed and rehomed by reputable dog rescue services. We ask the government to consider the innocent dogs who will lose their lives because an arbitrary date was plucked out of the air to seal their fate. We beg them to allow rescues to continue the good work they do to rehome existing rescued gentle, safe, neutered pets to responsible owners with ongoing support for the dogs lifetime and a promise to return to rescue if circumstances change in the future.

Dog lovers everywhere are despairing at this senseless waste of life. We look at our own pups and wonder what if it was them? When will it be their turn? We need to stand together to, not only save the lives of these dogs right now, but to also put a stop to irresponsible owners and breeders causing these issues for the next popular breed in a few years time.

Please, please sign to at least get this discussed so options can be explored before it’s too late.
