The Liberal Democrats in St Albans have recently implemented parking charges at Westminster Lodge Leisure Centre, which is already deterring people from using the health & fitness facilities. This petition in particular is regarding the hardworking employees at the Leisure centre, who have not been given any parking voids or permits by the council. St Albans District Council so far have declined parking rights for employees.

As a result, the employees at Westminster Lodge who need to access the car park for long hours daily, are either being forced to park much further away, making them more likely to be late for work. Or they are being fined, penalised, & criminalised for daring to park at their own place of work where they are just trying to earn a living. St Albans county council are clearly discriminating against employees at Westminster Lodge Leisure Centre as a thanks for all the work they do to provide Health & Fitness to it's visitors.

I myself am an employee here, and I work/require parking between 8 - 12 hours around 5 days a week. Myself and most of my colleagues are blue collar class workers, and cannot afford to pay huge parking bills daily. I have already been fined a couple of times for the grand crime of simply parking at my own place of work to help others access & navigate health & fitness, and I will not be bullied, and I will not be paying them! We are being discriminated against by St Albans County council for simply trying to earn a living. What has this nation come to? We work very hard and we certainly do not deserve this ill treatment! As a hardworking individual I feel betrayed, neglected, thrown under the bus, and every day of work now is stressful because I am stuck between a rock and a hard place, awaiting another punishing fine, and maybe legal battles ahead.

To be very clear; This is an issue with the council, and not the management at Everyone Active St Albans.
