The Issue

The Tap – Eastham Ferry is more than just a pub—it is a true community hub.

Since Bob and I (Callum) took over a little over a year ago, we have worked hard to create a welcoming space where friends, families, and local motorcycle enthusiasts can come together to enjoy food, music and company.

We are now applying for an outdoor music licence, which would allow us to host a variety of live events—from live music to outdoor cinema and charity fundraisers.

We have been working hard with all concerned to find a suitable solution and adapted changes to manage entertainment and comply with Wirral Council, Merseyside Police and Environmental Health with feedback from previous events.

Without the chance to host outdoor entertainment, we risk losing the vital support of our customers and the community. This impacts not only our business and employees but also the local artists and the charities that benefit from our events.

Our pub is a vehicle to bring a community together where we believe entertainment lifts people’s spirits and charity events such as the ‘Wirral Egg Run Tribute, Glastonferry and The Ray Thomas Show’ depend on this licence to continue raising awareness and funds to good causes.

We respectfully ask for your support in helping us secure this licence so we can keep The Tap – Eastham Ferry a lively, inclusive, and supportive venue for all.

Thank you for standing with us.
