Grant Kevin Gary A Pardon

Grant Kevin Gary A Pardon
The Issue
Kevin Gary's story is like so many others who grew up in our urban communities. But what's unique about this story is the journey travelled by this man and the outcome of it all. As he always says "If he can change, anybody can change". Kevin ripped and ran the streets of Baltimore without a care in the world. Joined a gang at the age of 18 and got in trouble. That trouble landed him in federal prison with a 360 month (30 years) sentence. Kevin didn't give up nor did he allow the sentence to define him. He started off knowing what needed to be done in order to change himself and his ways. He earned his GED in the penitentiary and worked his way down in his custody level. All while doing what he loved the most; reading and writing. He penned his first novel in 2011 and didn't stop there. Today Kevin Gary is the author of 44 novels with an astonishing 18 books published. When he's not writing or reading he's teaching his fellow inmates how to write and published books. He's helped countless inmates publish books through his How To Write A Book Class. With the state that Baltimore is currently in, I'm more than sure that his story, once he's released, could & will helped the children of today. His story will be told through his mouth and with his own words. We just need him out here. Governor Wes Moore we need Kevin Gary.
