As a dedicated member of the KCHS marching band for four years, I, Jaeden Randal, have treasured every moment that has been provided by this group. My passion for marching band was born in the modest town of Soldotna, where as a young child I admired marching bands from across the nation. In 9th grade, I was fortunate enough to join the KCHS marching band, a dream come true. With the upcoming 2025-2026 season marking my senior year, I dream of nothing else but joining my team, my family, on the grand stage of Grand Nationals one last time.

Marching Band instills discipline, team work, and a sense of community in its members. According to a study conducted by the National Association for Music Education, students who participate in school band programs like ours score approximately 20% higher in mathematics proficiency and 30% higher in reading proficiency. (NAfME Journal, Winter 2017).

It's not just about the results though. It’s about camaraderie, the pure joy of music, and the ability each member earns to work in harmony to create something larger than themselves.
