GRANT GRHAME PARK NW9 REGENERATION SCHEME A REVIEW AND BALLOT A NEIGHBOURHOOD FORUM & PLAN
GRANT GRHAME PARK NW9 REGENERATION SCHEME A REVIEW AND BALLOT A NEIGHBOURHOOD FORUM & PLAN
The Issue
WE NEED A REGENERATION REVIEW. WE MUST CREATE OUR OWN NEIGHBOURHOOD FORUM AND DEVLOPMENT PLAN. WE NEED A REGENERATION REBALLOT 2023!
Who is affected
The residents within the Grahame Park regeneration scheme
What is at stake?
The soul of the community and its surroundings.
Overstretch on facilities- health services no longer based on Grahame Park, overcrowded schools, limited police resources which affects Resident safety.
The Increased hyper density, with unwelcome tall buildings, directly correlates to an increase in criminal activity which the council continue to ignore over financial viability and KPI records.
Why sign this petition
This petition has been created to allow those of us who want to see real community led planning policies and changes implemented in the zone covered by Grahame Park Regeneration scheme to put our case forward for consideration.
- The start of the regeneration project had a promising start but has now veered off what residents were led to believe at 2003 ballot
- In 2016, a community hub was supposed to be based within Grahame Park regeneration zone, it received planning approval and then overturned and we want to know why that was allowed to happen
- Residents feel shut out of the regeneration process with many no longer supporting what the Grahame Park regeneration scheme is all about especially with dirty games like the above
- Many existing residents have been negatively impacted and this has had a detrimental affect on their mental health with existing residents and many who invested in the scheme developments now wanting to leave
- Residents now feel that they have been denied the European court of justice definition of one protocol one of human rights which is the right for everyone to be able to enjoy their home in a peaceful manner.
- Residents are furious about hundreds of millions of local and public money wasted. They are furious at the lack of financial centre oversight that happened around the same time a 2 million fraud scandal was identified regarding false address compulsory purchase order,
- Alongside previous point, the abuse of £56 million central government loan given to Genesis and Barnet Homes abusing millions of housing revenue account money by selecting a competively fought bid for regeneration refurbishment only for the same buildings to be demolished! Quinn London services, who they themselves have confirmed they won the competitive bid for regeneration refurbishment
- To add to insult of injury of previous point, Barnet homes have accumulating 400 million debt breaching the debt ca. and will continue to spend millions on refurbishment regeneration on buildings they themselves will be responsible for demolition programme
- Regeneration has touched the Concourse via refurbishment but millions were handed out to Notting Hill Genesis and it is unclear how much investment out of this money was used for this purpose alone.
- 90,000sqm² disgraceful height, scale and appearance bcouncil offices building where planning permission was approved for projects relating directly to community projects
- House and Growth, Asset and regeneration, Planning committee and local planning authority have all put developer over residents with many involved in partnerships and groups receiving developer funding which is biased towards decision making
- Barnet Planning authority accepting funding for developers for planning guidance influence and conflict of interest
- Planning committees rejecting tall buildings in other districts and council further place burden on Grahame Park
- The London Borough of Barnet promises on its website, Building more housing Colindale with this neighbourhood seeing the benefit of a comprehensive approach, where new homes are complemented by appropriate social infrastructure - residents disagree
- A long and exhaustive list right? That is for starters...
Why is now the time to act?
We must fight for this and more. There is an urgent need for a regeneration review if need be a re ballot and I hope residents in Heybourne Grahame Park do create our own neighbourhood forum and neighbourhood plan to reflect our needs. No one disputes that Regeneration is necessary and in the hands of the local residents and the community can be properly administered, be costed effectively, an promote ethically implemented independent thriving social and commercial success.
The regeneration scheme renewals between developer and shareholder councillors on partnership boards needs checks and balances. The allowed lack of engagement and financial abuse, the conflict of interest and maladministration has to end.
The council have abused the regeneration scheme into a housing target scheme to place a huge burden on the most population dense area in Barnet to further increase housing it already cannot sustain
Please sign and share! Then lets get involved in saving the soul of this place.
Thank you - Joan Roselie
