Grant Girls Flag Football in District 210

Grant Girls Flag Football in District 210
The Issue
Hello Everyone,
I am reaching to all prospective girls looking to participate in the fall for a girls flag football program at East and District 210. Offering a girls' flag football team at our high schools wouldn't just be another extracurricular activity – it would be a real chance for inclusivity, teamwork, and another fun and competitive option for our football crazed community!
Flag football offers young women a platform to engage in competition, to develop physical fitness, and to learn valuable life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience. According to multiple studies, participation in sports helps in boosting confidence and self-esteem, while also decreasing stress levels.
Currently, there is a growing movement across the country to introduce flag football as a female sport in high schools. States like Florida, Georgia, and even in our surrounding communities in Illinois have successfully implemented girls’ flag football teams with great results – teams not only exist but thrive, and the enthusiasm and engagement from students are palpable.
In our Frankfort community, starting a girls' flag football team would allow us to stay ahead of the curve, demonstrating our commitment to inclusivity and equality. We have the support of passionate students eager to join, and with flagged intentions from students, coaches, and supportive administration, we can set a positive example for others.
Let's rally together and take this first step toward opening opportunities for all students, regardless of gender. Sign this petition to show our school administration that we're serious about adding a girls' flag football team to our high school roster. Together, we can make this vision a reality and foster an inclusive environment that represents everyone.
