Grant Former Airman Parole

Grant Former Airman Parole
Why this petition matters
Mark Daniel Gooch is an Arizona airman from Wisconsin. He grew up attending a Mennonite church along with multiple brothers and sisters. Before his arrest, he worked as a mechanic in the Luke Air Force Base. In 2020, he was charged as a suspect in the disappearance of New Mexico Mennonite teacher Sasha Krause. The body of Krause was found in a Flagstaff, Arizona forest. Mark Gooch was arrested, and charged with murder, kidnapping, and theft. He was held in jail without bond while awaiting trial. Gooch was found guilty on all charges, and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, along with an additional 5 years in prison, and 3 months in the Coconino County Jail. This was truly an extremely cruel crime, and I will express my condolences to the Krause family. However, I do think Mark Gooch should be granted parole so he can once again return to society when he is 50 or older. He has accepted the religion he was raised in during his months of incarceration, and continues to pray, his family also prays for him. The Farmington, New Mexico Mennonite community will forever look back, and mourn Sasha. However, I believe that Mark Gooch can live a more positive life in his years to come, which would be wonderful. Sign this petition to support a commuted sentence for Mark Gooch.
