Grant "Changing Lives Forever" a Vacant Building for Community Rehabilitation

Grant "Changing Lives Forever" a Vacant Building for Community Rehabilitation
The Issue
As one of the founders of "Changing Lives Forever," my mission is clear – to reduce crime and incarceration rates in San Francisco. In collaboration with my fiancée Maria, I stand before you as a lifelong resident of this beautiful city, witnessing its vibrant spirit wane in the face of escalating challenges such as crime, addiction, and homelessness. Having called San Francisco home since the age of 5, I have personally weathered life's unpredictable circumstances, but at 57, I've emerged with a reputation for living in a state of compassion for all residents.
In 2020 alone, approximately 8,035 people were reported homeless (source: San Francisco Homeless Count & Survey), while violent crimes reached around 23 per 1,000 residents (source: FBI Crime Data). These statistics highlight the urgent need for initiatives like ours.
Our team and I have developed a comprehensive plan to not only help those coming out of prison reintegrate into society but also address homelessness in our city. We believe that together with your support, we can change lives forever in San Francisco by reducing crime rates and ending homelessness.
We implore the city to consider partnering with us by providing one of the vacant buildings within its jurisdiction. This act would not only support our cause but also contribute significantly towards addressing these pressing issues affecting our community.
Our vision is to provide classes for ex-prisoners, feed and clothe the homeless, and offer office space for our staff. However, as a new business owner, affording the lease on such a building is beyond my means. This financial barrier is preventing us from obtaining a vacant building large enough to accommodate our vision.
We've noticed a growing number of unused and vacant buildings within the city, spaces that could be repurposed to serve our noble cause. With the right space, we are confident that 'Changing Lives Forever' can make a significant impact on reducing crime and homelessness in the city we hold dear.
Therefore, we are asking that the City and County of San Francisco grant us use of one vacant building within its jurisdiction. Thank you for considering our plea and for your dedication to the well-being of our beloved city. Please sign this petition to show your support for granting "Changing Lives Forever" access to a vacant city building. Together, let us transform these vacant spaces into beacons of hope and opportunity for those in need, fostering a stronger, safer, and more compassionate San Francisco for all.
