The path of totality is only three hours away from us, making it a feasible journey for students to witness this rare occurrence.

Solar eclipses are not everyday events; they occur somewhere on Earth about every 18 months. However, experiencing one in totality - where the moon completely covers the sun - is even rarer. It's estimated that any given location on Earth experiences a total solar eclipse only once every 375 years (source: NASA).
