Grant Authority to Build a Tiny Home City to End California's Housing Crisis
The Issue
Please sign the following petition to grant a coalition of non-profits the authority to build an eco-friendly, tiny home city in CALIFORNIA CITY to end California's housing crisis:
We, the undersigned, call on Governor Gavin Newsom to grant a coalition of California-based non-profit organizations the authority to build the world’s first eco-friendly, tiny home city in California City.
By supporting this project, we can offer refuge, recovery, and community to those most in need and end California's housing crisis once and for all!
Let’s end the housing crisis with dignity. Let’s build a city that heals.
Additional Information:
SUPERUS
We are SUPERUS (sue~pehr~us), a 501 (c) 3 non-profit aid organization. Our mission is to secure the basic survival needs of our most vulnerable: clean water, food, shelter, and medical care.
FACTS
A tiny home costs $30,000. An adobe home costs $25,000.
To house 200,000 people costs $5.2 billion. That's $522 million a year over 10 years.
California has spent $20 billion on its homeless crisis since 2019.
That’s $3.33 billion per year—6x what we need.
Why keep managing homelessness when we can end it for good?
MORE FACTS
California has 200,000 homeless residents. 50,000 (25%) are families with children, veterans, or drug-free individuals.
California has spent $20 billion since 2019
Billions have gone to “solutions” yet families still sleep on sidewalks and senior are living in their cars.
No plan. No results. No accountability. This isn’t just failure—it’s injustice.
We don’t need more talk. We need action. It’s time for a solution that works.
FACTS ABOUT CALIFORNIA CITY
California City is four times the size of Anaheim (200 square miles). Its population is only 15,000, and 95% of its land is vacant. The city already has roads, water, electricity, and an aquifer 3x the size of San Diego. California City is located only 110 miles (2 hours) from Los Angeles.
SUSTAINABILITY & ECO-FRIENDLY LIVING
- Renewable Energy: California City’s open land allows for solar farms & wind turbines to power the entire city.
- Decentralized Power: Neighborhood microgrids generate, store, and distribute energy locally—boosting resilience and reliability.
- Eco-Friendly Construction: Adobe Homes and Earthships are energy-efficient, low-impact structures made from recycled or locally sourced materials.
- Battery Banks: Each home will have its own energy storage system to provide power at night or in low-sunlight conditions.
- Self-producing Food Systems: Every home will have a greenhouse, and each square mile will feature a cell-based food facility offering free & clean beef, pork, poultry, and fish—reducing reliance on traditional farming and cutting carbon emissions.
