2023 has already seen more gun related deaths on school grounds than in the past years. This is unacceptable. Kids are scared to go to their schools. They are afraid of dying. They should be focused on learning and having fun. This needs to be stopped. It is even worse knowing that some School Boards don't take threats seriously or don't handle them effectively. I truly believe that multiple armed guards in schools will deter potential threats and be able to respond quickly and efficiently to any school threat. Background checks are a must for these guards. They need to be mentally and physically able to not just stop and prevent threats, but to also better connect with the students, give them guidance, and give them someone that they know can and will help them. These guards need to be trained specifically with the school they are working in. They need to know all entrances and exits, all classrooms, and all offices to quickly and swiftly respond to threats. We need to act now. Too many kids. Too many teachers and staff. Innocent people who have been taken by cowards with weapons.
