The Issue

My best friend has been denied the nurturing experience of 4-H camp due to an isolated medical incident that happened almost a century ago. This banishment, prompted by a seizure her mother experienced 2 years prior, prevents her from soaking in the many benefits 4-H camp has to offer.

Speaking from personal experience, the 4-H camp has played an instrumental role in shaping my life. For many of us, it's more than just a camp - it's a sanctuary. The teachings and experiences it provides cannot be measured or contained.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), people with a history of seizure can still live fulfilling lives and participate in group activities. Limiting her access due to a nearly 2-year-old medical event is both unreasonable and unwarranted.

It's time to reevaluate these restrictions and allow those, like my best friend, to partake in the transformative experiences at the 4-H camp, irrespective of a family medical history that no longer impacts their life. Join me in advocating for this change. Sign this petition today.
