Petition updateGrant a Second Chance to Angel M. Rodriguez Jr.He Didn’t Commit the Crime — But He’s Serving Life Without Parole

Imagine being 19 years old. You didn’t commit the crime. You didn’t even know it was going to happen. Yet you’re sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

That’s the reality Angel M. Rodriguez Jr. has faced for over 20 years.

Angel was convicted under the felony murder and aiding and abetting rule — despite having no direct involvement. He has now spent two decades behind bars for a crime he didn’t commit.

But Angel is not the same person he was at 19. He has earned his GED, completed multiple educational and trade programs, mentored others, and rebuilt himself into a man of integrity and accountability.

Now he’s facing de novo resentencing, but the same prosecutor who handled his case 20 years ago is still fighting to keep him in prison. This raises serious concerns about fairness, impartiality, and true justice.

Angel deserves a second chance.

Help us show that justice should evolve — and that no one should be defined forever by the worst moment of their youth.
