Lake Worth Swap Shop has been  a part Of the community for over 30 years. Which it has been a lot peoples sole income for just as long. There are Over 300  permanent Vendors that depend on their income there to pay their bills and keep their households running. Also many employees. Due to issues with the city beyond the peoples control, it will be shut down PERMANENTLY on September 30, 2025. This was just brought to the vendors attention on August 30, 2025. This gives them very little time to unload their inventory and find a new source of income. Less then 30 days , many have been there 10 years or more . As heartbreaking as that is to the vendors  that they are out of their jobs ,  It is understood that it Must close due to the  issues going on between the city and the owners of the swap shop.  However the only people that will be hurt out of this are good hard-working people. All the vendors here are losing their income and have very little time to figure out what to do with the inventory that they did have, and find another source of income.. The owners will just sell the place and make millions probably put some more high rises there. The city will go on business as usual. We know the Swap shop can’t stay open . It is what it is.We are just asking for an extension of 90 days to give the people that have been selling there a chance to figure out their next steps . Everyone is out of a job , and now has to pay storage for inventory they can’t sell , or discard their merchandise with no income coming in.  If given 90 days instead of less then 30 now it will give people more time to figure out their next steps and make money to pay their bills , not spend more money storing inventory that there is no where to sell anymore. we are not asking for donations, just an opportunity to make our own money as usual.
