Fire GPISD Superintendent Susan Hull

Superintendent Susan Hull has potentially defrauded taxpayers for years by leading district-wide policies that may have manipulated grades, inflated GPAs, and fraudulently miscalculated high school class rankings in order to make a sub-par school district appear to be excelling. Just this year (2018), it was revealed that GPISD merged the class rankings of two schools (South Grand Prairie High School and Early College High School at South Grand Prairie) that, according to GPISD’s own academic handbook as well as the legal charters of those schools, are two different schools. These schools have different addresses, different student bodies, different curriculums, and different grade weightings. By ranking the students from Early College High School against the students from South Grand Prairie High School, the incompatible grade weighting systems of both schools has led to a significant drop in class rank for South Grand Prairie High School’s highest achieving students. This policy misleadingly compares the inflated GPAs of the Early College High School Program with the standard GPAs of South Grand Prairie High School, thus disguising adequacy as excellence.
Since 2015, Superintendent Hull has received an annual salary of $360,795.48, which is the highest salary of any public school superintendent in North Texas. A Fox 4 report from June of 2017 revealed that GPISD spent $125,000 on renovations and a new fence for the $413,520 house the district provides her (Dallas Central Appraisal District value).
Susan Hull’s compensation is that of a successful superintendent. The suspicious, and possibly fraudulent activity of the district seems to be part of an attempt to deceive citizens of Grand Prairie into believing that the children of the district are receiving a better education than they actually are. This petition is of the opinion that the possibly fraudulent activity of the school district is part of an effort by Susan Hull to justify to taxpayers and school board members a salary that she knows she does not deserve. Children are our future, and it is both irresponsible and immoral to leave our future in the hands of people motivated by greed. GPISD needs to take action and rectify these injustices by firing Susan Hull immediately.
