He combined different genres of music, such as gospel, rhythm & blues and country and created the birth of what we call 'rock and roll'. He paved the way for so many other artists through the following decades. John Lennon said 'Before Elvis, there was nothing'.His humble beginning epitomizes the rags to riches story. His three decades of music legacy is just as strong today, over 35 years after his untimely death. 

Elvis Presley deserves to be honoured by the Grammy Recording Academy for his immense and unparalleled contribution to music. He is the 'Artist of the Millenium' and will always be the undisputed King of Rock 'n Roll!!
