My problem is straight and plain DANCEHALL DESERVES A CATEGORY ON THE GRAMMYS AND ALSO ON THE BILLBOARD CHARTS it is clear hardcore dancehall music from artist such as the bounty killer , shabba ranks, Beenie man, ninja man and a lot more they are not reggae artist they are the evolution of reggae they deserve to be put in a category which is dancehall. Our Jamaican music have evolved over the decades first ska & rocksteady evolved into reggae then the evolution of reggae became dancehall its been decades and we have yet to get a category, The Grammys is the biggest award show and we only have 1 category on there which is reggae and our hardcore dancehall artist are fighting with reggae artist to get on the 1 nomination category this is truly sad knowing that our Jamaican music as so much influence on the world. This as been something that should have been done years ago look at the Reggae billboard charts now, I’m not trying to down play the legend bob Marley but he spends 100 weeks at number 1 and nothing is wrong with that he is the reggae legend but he should more likely be competing with fellow reggae(conscious) artist instead of hardcore(Raw) dancehall artist hence the reason we need a Dancehall category for the dancehall legends and youths. Just a simple scenario imagine the dancehall legend bounty killer get nominated and wins a Reggae Grammy when this man is plain example of the revolution of reggae which is hardcore Dancehall. This is not a aim to separate the two Genres Reggae and Dancehall it’s just a movement to show the evolution and that dancehall as made its mark.... Please let’s make this possible 2022 DANCEHALL NEED A CATEGORY ON THE GRAMMYS AND BILLBOARD CHARTS!!!!!
