Request that Grammarly creates an ads opt-out page on their site.
The Issue
We want Grammarly to create a page on their website which people can visit in order to opt out of all future ads. For example, https://www.grammarly.com/opt-out
We are tired of getting Grammarly ads, even though we are not interested in the product, nor will we ever be interested in the product.
Our needs on this matter will not change in the future. We have learned how to write properly (or we already *like* our own writing style, and don't want to change). These are skills we've already learned. We will never use Grammarly.
This is incredibly easy to do for both Grammarly, and the users who want to opt out.
A visitors doesn't need to fill out a form on the page. They just need to visit the page, while being logged into Google or Facebook (which is almost always the case). All a person must do is visit that specific page on the site. Grammarly can then choose to NOT show their ads to any people who have visited this opt-out page, by setting up rules in their Google Analytics Audiences (ditto for FB audiences).
Creating this opt-out page is a quick task for them.
It would take them all of 16 seconds to accomplish the task.
Creating the Analytics audiences and hooking it into Google Ads?
That's child's play. It would take them literally 40 seconds.
THE BENEFITS
- We don't see their ad anymore.
- They don't PAY for any of our engagement with the ads (either through impressions or accidental clicks).
- Their campaigns' theoretically CTRs go up, and their CPAs go down.
- For those of us who chose to allows ads (for various reasons that are out of scope, here), it allows more relevant ads to be shown to us.
