Recently, the online designer clothing marketplace Grailed has raised their selling fee from 6% to 9%, without warning or even notifying the public. This coupled with the additional 2-3% paypal fee, has made it much less viable for many to profit off of their sales. 

This fee increase by Grailed staff has put their community in turmoil, not to mention the way it was silently snuck out has left a sour taste in the mouth of their patrons. In the comments of each of their articles and social media posts there are hundreds of upset users discussing their resentment to this price gouge. 

We understand that running an online service is challenging and respect what Grailed has done. Yet at the same time other services such as StockX who charge a 9.5% fee take extra steps to authenticate each item sold on their platform. We realize asking the fees to be completely reversed is an unrealistic demand, and we are willing to compromise. Grailed to meet your community in the middle and lower their fees down to 7.5%, this change would show your devotion to your userbase, as well as rebuild your reputation. If this is fee is not reduced, then I urge users to leave Grailed for one of the many other similar online marketplaces. This sly debacle has shown Grailed’s true colors and lack of devotion to their users.
