NEW INFORMATION ON MEDVIVO: AN URGENT REVIEW IS NOW NEEDED

On 3rd February, our local NHS took a decision to award the GP Out-of-Hours contract to Medvivo. On 11th June, alarming information about Medvivo was disclosed by PULSE, a publication for GPs. Locum GPs working for Medvivo describe the company’s performance targets as ‘unsafe for patients’ and say Medvivo’s service is ‘morally completely wrong’. Locum GPs who do not comply with targets that put patients at risk are reportedly denied work.

This is NEW INFORMATION, unknown to decision makers in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin in February. In the light of this important new information, we ask you to ensure an URGENT REVIEW of the decision to award the contract to Medvivo. (We remind you that the Independent Patient Choice and Procurement Panel has issued advice; the actual decision is for the local NHS to make).
