Did you know in Pennsylvania we do not have a law for Lifelong Prohibition of Ownership? What does this mean for the animals who are tortured, maimed, beaten, and killed? This means that even if the person who committed these heinous acts of animal cruelty are caught and sentenced, they can only be prohibited from owning animals for the duration of their sentence. Example: Cocoa, a 14-year-old horse whose owner chained him to a tree. Humane Officers had been to this location several times throughout previous years, educating, providing resources, even providing FOOD and this is the outcome!!! Joseph Dush and his wife Brenda, of DuBois PA, allowed their horse Cocoa, to STARVE to DEATH tied to a tree with a bale of hay literally feet away! In court, the reason for Joe to NOT go to jail for a lengthy sentence was because they didn't want him to lose his "SIGNIFICANT income"! This was the plea deal cut by the District Attorney. Both criminals will be able to have animals in just a couple of years! This has to be CHANGED!
