Because our first responders can’t shut down, work from home or protect themselves from exposure...

I think that ALL first responders, medical staff and public health/safety employees should receive an increased incentive hazard pay. They choose to go to work; they DONT have to. Many of them, despite the pandemic, are still maintaining their normal lifestyle and upholding their duties to protect and serve their communities. 

Two of my loved ones work in the public sector. Neither of them have selfishly taken time off as precautionary measures and both of them have families at home. Not only does their job impact their own health and well-being but also the health of those in their home who could fall victim to this virus should they become exposed. The severity of COVID-19 is detailed more and more each day with new information and warnings, yet our first responders and medical staff are still working for us. 

I am creating this petition for the brief reasons listed below: 

• as an incentive to reduce call-Ins/staff shortage during this crucial time 
• as a gesture of appreciation for their selflessness and dedication to their job 
• to maintain a full staff on schedule which will allow treatment for more patients and a quicker recovery time
