Currently veterinary clinics are considered an essential service in Pennsylvania, which is great. We all want to be reassured we can get our pets the care they need during this crisis.

However, spay and neuter aren't currently considered an essential service. Not only does spaying and neutering our pets prevent disease, it also helps keep the homeless pet population down.
There are millions of homeless pets in the United States, and overcrowding of our underfunded shelters mean 1.5 million animals are euthanized per year. 

We are in the midst of dealing with a human health crisis, but we can't let this cause a boom in homeless pets. If vet clinics are considered essential because we care for our pets, than spay and neuter services should be restarted immediately.
