Tim Walz: Support lifting off-sale packaging restrictions for breweries during COVID - 19

During this time of crisis when our local breweries are unable to have their taprooms open to the public and liquor stores sales are at an all time high, they are relying solely on revenue generated from off-sale purchases at their locations to keep their businesses solvent.

Due to outdated laws that limit packaging, breweries are prevented from selling 12oz-16oz cans directly to consumers. Many breweries have thousands of these quantity cans sitting in their stockroom that would normally be distributed to liquor stores, that will instead go to waste, costing these businesses important revenue that will provide cash flow to continue purchasing ingredients to brewing beer.  This revenue generation supplies important cash flow for supply chain businesses that provide services to craft breweries. This petition is to persuade the state of Minnesota to allow breweries to sell their products in packages of their choosing via their safe curbside and delivery purchasing options.

Relief was recently given to restaurants and bars to sell wine and beer in such quantities with their take-out orders, which was aimed at reducing the quantity of beer and wine that would go to waste: the same option should be given to our local breweries so they can increase their packaging options to their customers, and prevent the loss of product and revenue at this particularly hard time for small businesses.

Please sign this petition so that we can take this message to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for immediate action.
