General (Ret) Vance and membership in Order of Military Merit

Former Chief of the Defence Staff, General (Retired) Jonathan Vance has pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice in the performance of his duties while still serving. ( Guilty Plea media coverage- Global News )
The Order of Military Merit is a very high honour in the Canadian Honours System. It is a Honour that has been called the "Military Version of the Order of Canada" having been introduced to replace the military grouping in the Order of Canada.
Recipients of the Order of Military Merit have been removed from the Order upon being found guilty of offences that bring discredit to the Order and for not upholding the highest standards of professional military conduct. The exemplary service and dedication to the highest standards of the Canadian Armed Forces who are members of the Order of Military Merit in all grades are diminished by the continued inclusion of General Vance among their membership.
As the former CDS, General Vance was not just the highest ranking serving officer in the Canadian Armed Forces, but also the Principal Commander of the Order of Military Merit. he was charged with upholding th every highest standards of the Canadian Armed Forces and the Order of Military Merit. By his illegal actions, he failed and his membership in the order terminated in accordance with the 25 (c) of the Constitution of the Order ( Official Constitution )
We, the signers of this petition feel that General (Ret) Vance has brought dishonour to the Order of Military Merit and her membership in the Order should be revoked.
