Telemedicine saves lives as it 1- gives vulnerable/home-bound/ill patients access to physicians they would not otherwise have access to and 2- it allows for medical care to transpire without the risk of spreading infectious diseases to and between patients, their providers, the medical staff, and all citizens who come in contact with a sick person on their way from their home to the doctor.

The physician services required to approve a patient for medical marijuana have been EXCLUDED FROM TELEMEDICINE by the State of Colorado. This doesn't just discriminate illegally against patients choosing "alternative" methods of treatment for their debilitating diseases, but it also puts every single Colorado citizen at higher risk of contracting the deadly COVID-19 virus.

You may not agree with medical marijuana, but you probably agree that our government should do everything in its power to protect its citizens from contracting the debilitating and deadly COVID-19 virus. By disallowing telemedicine for MMJ evaluations, your State government leadership has made a decision that mobilizes over 90,000 people from their homes to go out into the community and potentially spread this deadly disease. That's 246 new people out in the community EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR just to abide by a fickle, discriminatory, and completely unnecessary law.

TELEMEDICINE for MMJ is NOT NEW. It is allowed in many other States and was allowed in Colorado for over 1 year during the COVID pandemic. Not a single polled MMJ doctor agrees with canceling TELEMEDICINE for MMJ evaluations. What's more, patients who use MMJ often do it to treat debilitating diseases that already put them at a higher risk of major morbidity and mortality from the virus. We are talking about the elderly, immune compromised patients with cancer and/or on debilitating cancer treatments, and patients who already have compromised lung function secondary to debilitating neurological diseases. Canceling telemedicine for MMJ patients puts them in an impossible position deciding either to risk their lives to a possible COVID exposure or getting the medication they desperately need to treat their very debilitating medical conditions. This ruthless, discriminatory, and completely unnecessary law must end now!

The most seriously ill patients who use MMJ are also those who are at highest risk of contracting and dying from communicable diseases like the highly infectious COVID virus. Allow them to stay home by legalizing TELEMEDICINE for MMJ evaluations.
