Plastic straws, are composed of materials that are not biodegradable, and can affect wildlife and oceans. It should be our duty to protect life on earth, and make a change in order to preserve our environment. Plastic straws take over 500 years to decompose, are aren’t a necessity for everyday life. Skipping the Straw, will benefit the world in a way that cannot be described. From a poll taken at Toms River High School North, 90% of students and faculty do not need a straw. Shifting from plastic straws to no straws, will create an everlasting impact on Earth. Hopefully, with the pledge that you take, we will be able to make a difference in the world and preserve it for our future and future generations.
