Sumbal court finally awarded a 3 year jail sentence to a clerk for having sexually abused a child in 2011. It took our judiciary 7 years to send this child abuser to jail.

A fine of INR 5000 and 3 years in jail for child rape is nothing but a joke in the name of justice.

I fail to understand that why is our justice system so weak and lenient towards child rapists. There should be longer and more severe punishments for people who roam around in the society with an image of a saint and in the disguise of that rape children at will.

What's more astonishing to me is that only one news agency (see the link shared with this update) has published this news that too without any clear details. Unless and until we take these incidents seriously, child abusers will keep exploiting our children under our nose.

It is time to be proactive and prevent this problem at the first place by making ourselves aware about this menace first and then our children by talking to them about personal safety.
